Alex Padilla

Quarterback
Hometown (High School): Greenwood Village, CO (Cherry Creek)
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 195 lbs
247 Composite Ranking: 3-stars, 34th best pro-style QB
Other Offers: Georgia, Colorado State, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, Yale, 5 more.

Padilla is one of Iowa’s more unusual recruits of this class. I mean, it’s not unusual that the Hawkeyes recruited a three-star pro-style quarterback. That’s every Iowa quarterback ever. What’s unusual is that they recruited a three-star pro-style quarterback from Colorado. Name the last Hawkeye from Colorado. Do it. You can’t.

Padilla originally committed back in June, fresh off a junior year that saw him throw for 2,678 yards, 40 touchdowns and completing 67.7% of his passes. His senior season didn’t have such gaudy numbers, as he only threw for 1,892 yards and 24 touchdowns. But, if there is a difference, he increased his completion percentage to 69.7% (nice) and cut his interceptions from 9 to 2. Want a nice highlight reel that Alex put together himself for signing day? We gotchu:

Welcome aboard, Alex.
