Chris Reames

Defensive End
Hometown (High School): Van Meter, IA (Van Meter)
Height: 6'7
Weight: 215
247 Composite Ranking: 3-stars, 72nd best strongside defensive end
Other Offers: Army, plus about a dozen FCS offers

Four years ago, Iowa picked up the commitment of a 6'7", 215-pound in-state defensive end who didn't have much of an offer sheet and had been ranked the sixth-best prospect in the state.  We all sort of shrugged and hoped for the best.

But Reese Morgan knows.  Reese Morgan knows Iowa high school football, and Reese Morgan knows talent when he sees it, and Reese Morgan definitely knows talent at defensive line, the position he coaches.  That 6'7", 215-pound in-state recruit with the lackluster offer sheet and middling ranking finished the 2018 season as one of the Big Ten's best defensive ends and a likely NFL draft selection when he decides to take his shot.

We're not saying that Chris Reames is going to be another Anthony Nelson.  At this point, all we know is that he's a 6'7", 215-pound in-state defensive end who doesn't have much of an offer sheet and has been ranked the sixth-best prospect in the state.  But this is Reese Morgan, so you're telling us there's a chance.

Welcome to Iowa, Chris.
