Let's just get this out of the way: Yes, his name is a form of the Hebrew name of God used in the Bible. OK, everyone get the puns out now.
Jeudy's commitment to the Hawkeyes was both recent and surprising. By recent I mean it literally happened last night. By surprising I mean it caught a lot of us off guard as he had been committed to the Kansas State Wildcats since June.
Of course, when the head coach that you committed to "retires" (I think Bill Snyder was forced out), it's going to make you think twice about joining a program. Jeudy thought twice and continued to stay in contact with Iowa wide receivers coach Kelton Copeland, a Miami native. If you're wanting to know what type of player he is, check his senior season highlights:
If you enjoy watching a patient linebacker taking excellent angles and making plays at the LOS, I strongly encourage you to watch the entirety of this video. Lots of highlight reels are full of pick sixes, forced fumbles, and sacks. There's some of that stuff here too, but for the most part, it's Jeudy being an extremely heady linebacker. We're here for Abdul Hodge 2.0.
At 215 pounds he's probably going to need to put on a few pounds before he sees steady playing time. Combine smart football player with Chris Doyle and you've got a potential All-Big Ten player on your hands. That shouldn't take long.
Welcome aboard, Yahweh.
