Daraun McKinney

Defensive Back
Hometown (High School): River Rouge, MI (River Rouge)
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 179 lbs
247 Composite Ranking: 3-stars, 65th best athlete
Other Offers: Cincinnati, Indiana, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, and several other MAC schools

He just committed today! I literally just wrote about him! I'm doing this post out of a sense of completeness, but there isn't much to say about McKinney that we didn't say a few hours ago. But you should definitely watch his highlights if you haven't already, because they are fun as hell:

The parallels between McKinney and Desmond King, both in terms of their backgrounds (Detroit-area kids), their recruitment (late flips from MAC schools), and their skills as actual players (good corners who are also excellent in the return game), are downright eerie. McKinney had 78 tackles and five interceptions as a senior -- and he took four of those picks back for touchdowns. He scored another 13 touchdowns via offense and special teams; he's a player with a nose for the end zone and a knack for big plays. Iowa can always use players like that.

Welcome to Iowa, Daraun.
