Iowa’s blazing streak of commitments continued this morning with Reginald Bracy, a 6’0, 190 pound safety from St. Paul’s Episcopal (the home of A.J. McCarron WOOOO) in Mobile, Alabama. The 2020 recruit made the announcement on his Twitter:
Bracy is a consensus 3-star recruit and the 67th best safety in the nation per 247 Sports. He’s a 5-star recruit in the name department, though, as Reginald is one of the fanciest names in Alabama. Bracy had only one other Power 5 offer in Indiana and a number of Group of Five offers including CMU, Navy, Southern Miss, Troy and UAB. He was recruited by running backs/offensive recruiting coordinator Derrick Foster, which may strike you as odd as Bracy is neither a running back (though he does play RB sporadically) nor an offensive player. That’s because Foster came from Samford, so he’s in the know when it comes to players from the Yellowhammer State.
Here’s your hudl video:
If you’re looking for exciting interceptions or spectacular plays, you’ll find none. If you’re looking for solid tackling and good pursuit angles boy do I recommend this video to you and all of your friends.
Bracy is the 19th recruit of the 2020 class and brings Iowa’s overall recruiting ranking up to 14th in the nation. However, that comes with a caveat, as Iowa’s class is nearly done and so many other schools aren’t even close.
Welcome aboard, Mr. Bracy.
