Another bad week and the heads at GIA are furious. They came to me at midnight on Saturday and said "Mr. Spread Awareness, you are fired. Please sign this paper so that we can remove you, and your terrible picks, from our website forever." WELL GUESS WHAT!

Time to get back on track!

Big Ten Locks of the Week

Maryland -12 @Rutgers (11:00 AM CST, BTN)

Get a load of this game!!! These two teams were outscored 111-0 last weekend! One of them has to bounce back, I think? Will it be Maryland, who destroyed the fake teams they played earlier this year, or will it be Rutgers, who already fired their coach?? Probably not Rutgers, although naming Nunzio Campanile as interim head coach has to be the smartest thing they have done as a program since joining the Big Ten. Sure, they might not win another game but having a made man as the head coach of a New Jersey-based football team definitely can’t hurt anything.

Pick: MARYLAND -12

#14 Iowa +3.5 @ #19 Michigan (11:00 AM CST, FOX)

This is it, folks, after playing four low tier, cupcake games to open the season we finally get to see Iowa play a real football team. No more joke schools like Middle Tennessee State and Iowa State, this is a real life, Division I football team. The Hawkeyes travel to the Big House to take on the #19 Michigan Wolverines, who barely beat Army and were destroyed by Wisconsin. They did show some life last weekend though by shutting out Rutgers. So, are they bad? Are they good? I don’t know.

What I do know is that Iowa is 5-1 against Michigan in their last six meetings. I also know that Iowa is 0-5 ATS in their last five games as a road underdog. I also know that Queen Elizabeth is a trained mechanic. Basically, what I am trying to say is what I know means nothing, because the 2019 gambling year has broken my brain. I am going strictly off the eye test here, and I think Iowa is the better team.

#12 Penn State -28.5 vs Purdue (11:00 AM, ESPN)

Purdue was already bad, but now they are without Rondale Moore and Elijah Sinclair for their trip to Happy Valley. Penn State keeps getting better and better. The Nittany Lions win big and Jeff Brohm starts to regret not leaving Purdue.

PICK: Penn State -28.5

#8 Wisconsin -36 vs Kent State (11:00 AM CST, ESPNU)

Every time that I have picked a MAC team to cover a giant spread this year it has backfired magnificently. I will not make that mistake again. Wisconsin gets up big early before resting their starters for next week's game vs MSU. This game goes UNDER 59.

Minnesota -14 vs Illinois (2:30 PM CST, BTN)

Minnesota is 4-0 with wins by 7, 3, 3, and 7 points. Illinois has lost two games this year by a combined 7 points. Be prepared for this one, as it is definitely going to be a game of football. I expect plenty of penalties, missed field goals, fumbles, interceptions, and just general poor play.

PICK: Illinois +14

Nebraska -7.5 vs Northwestern (3:00 CST, FOX)

In a wild turn of events, Nebraska fans have gone from claiming their QB should be the frontrunner for the Heisman to saying he should be benched in just 4 games. You hate to see it. Anyway, what kind of idiot would think Nebraska could cover against a top 5 team in a primetime game????? I am sorry and it will never happen again.

PICK: Northwestern +7.5

#4 Ohio State -20 vs #25 Michigan State (6:30 PM CST, ABC)

#MSUunders are officially DEAD to me. D.E.A.D. DEAD. I haven’t been this let down by something since that guy walked across the Grand Canyon on a tight rope WITH A SAFETY HARNESS ON. WHOOP DEE FREAKING DOO MAN. IT IS LITERALLY MORE DANGEROUS TO WALK YOUR DOG ACROSS THE STREET! HOW DO I SUE SOMEONE FOR FALSE ADVERTISING???

Pitt +4.5 vs Duke – Beating undefeated UCF, barely beating Delaware, I don’t know what Pitt is, and why I like them in this game, but here we are.

#7 Auburn -3 vs #10 Florida – The Auburn Cover train keeps on rolling!

#14 Washington -15.5 @ Stanford -- What the hell happened to Stanford???

Central Michigan +6 vs Eastern Michigan – I typically don’t mess with MACtion games unless they are played on Tuesday or Wednesday nights in front of 7 people, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The home team has won this game four times in a row, and unfortunately for EMU, this game is not in Ypsilanti. Chips cover!

Ohio -3.5 @ Buffalo – I want to make one thing very clear: this is the most pro-Frank Solich gambling column on the internet and if you can’t handle that please get the hell out. #SoRichFromSolich
