What the ...
Cussin' the Hawks since 1971!
...mid-majors like Tulsa and Iowa State...
I see what you did there. Also, his name is Deuce Hogan. I mean, this might not be real.
Hahahaha! Picked up on the same thing! You beat me to it! Great minds something something....

Several thoughts. I have the same hat. Terrific video. Seems like he does it the right way. Awesome hair. Big arm. Interesting timing by Iowa. Hopefully this becomes a trend, getting on the radar of recruits early. (Edit: He also has nearly the quickest release I've ever seen)
Also, we need Kinnick to ring with the sound of "DEUCE! DEUCE! DEUCE! DEUCE!"
Welcome aboard, Deuce. Everyone is rooting for you.
It's gonna sound like Deuuuuuuce!
Big Sky Hawkeye
You're right. Too much pre-game tailgating to expect 70K+ to repeat Deuce! multiple times at once.
I strongly prefer winning over losing.
Let me fix that for you.
Unfortunately, the new north endzone renovation has dropped the capacity of Kinnick to below 70K.
Too much pre-game tailgating to expect 70K+ 60K+ to repeat Deuce! multiple times at once.
Yeah, but capacity of 69,000 will still be pretty nice.
I really can't argue with you, as 69K is definitely a great number for many reasons. I always envisioned the capacity would increase to 75 - 80K range. I never imagined it would ever drop below 70K.
A blinding talent. I'm revved up! Deuce looks like another runner in the night!
But does he have a silicone sister?
Not sure, but his manager mister told he's got what it takes!
Just so long as they check out the weather chart to see if it is safe outside
“That’s not booing you hear through the TV after Hogan’s third TD throw on the day, they’re saying Deuuuuuuuuuuuuce”
I spent half my life's earnings on wine, women, and song. The other half I wasted.
TBF, if they're playing in Ames, I assume it actually will be booing. Or possibly mooing
Just another garbage commenter spreading my *sshole all over the internet.
I was saying boo-urns...
His accuracy on mid and deep balls is excellent for a high school QB. He's gonna be a good get... if we can keep him.
I love this pickup. He has the pedigree of Tate, the size of Stanley, the attitude of Stanzi, the arm of Petras, and the hair of Beathard.
However, if he is not assigned the number 2 jersey, I will quit following Hawkeye football forever.
Bad news. Fellow Texan and redshirt freshman QB Peyton Mansell has the #2 jersey. I agree with BW, getting Deuce his God-given number will (maybe) be the most talked about topic within Hawkeye Nation, if not America, heading into 2020.
Whoopity do. He'll redshirt while Mansell finishes out his senior year (if other things haven't already transpired with Peyton prior to Deuce's arrival). Are you trying to drive Brinzerian Wisdom away from Iowa fandom or something?
CAUTION: May go on prolonged rants about Gary Barta and Bruce Harreld without warning.
If we don’t go for two following every TD he scores it will be a got-damn shame
I just now watched the commitment video - how many points for throwing it through the uprights, cause he nails that skill.
Why is he only a 3-star? That is the question.
Still waiting for 2nd FB NC.
Word on the street is that he sent a gift package with his namesake in it to both Rivals and 247 Sports.
After spending years being bullied by the big ten, I decided to become the bully and go after Iowa basketball players. I also have no concept of what is real and what is fantasy, as demonstrated by my belief that I could coach.
Unfortunately, you have to have an offer from a bluebood to even be considered a 4-star. If Alabama happens to offer, the kid will immediately jump to a 5-star and likely be considered the best thing since sliced bread.
The GIA community should petition Greg Morris to hook him up with a tear away jersey. After every TD pass he has to rip it off and go through the motions of seeing which corner of Kinnick is the loudest.

Vitamins and prayers brother!
Once scissor-kicked Angela Lansbury at Moroccan casino. She knows what she did!! Best friends with Bill Brasky
I like what your doing right there.
hopefully his dad puts in a few plays where he takes a snap under center... i dont think the video had a single one!
now residing in the frozen tundra up nord der
Between his name and being from Texas, if he doesn't grow a Josey Jewell-like mustache by the time he's a senior I'll be very sad.
I don't know if Okie State offers a bunch of QBs or what, but stealing a Texas QB from them seems like a big deal what with the way they like to pitch that magic bean and all.
I'm glad you noticed that; my thoughts exactly. OSU usually does a pretty good job of scouting quaterbacks. They've had more than a couple of gems under Gundy.
First, I like ths. I think it's cool. Yada yada yada.
But being the Iowan that I am, I'm worried he'll blow up, get a better offer and move on from Iowa, Menawhile, Iowa stoppped recruiting other guys. That's not really happening. I'm being silly. Just paranoid is all.
That's possible. The alternative is to refuse his commit. That seems worse.
Don’t be that guy. Kids a teenager and whatever he decides from now to signing will be fine for everyone involved. I made like 20 decisions I wanted to take back today and I’m in my 30’s. Don’t care too much, it’s creepy.
You make some really excellent points. Caring in definitely creepy, but it's hard to not care when one is heavily invested in the program.
If you are caring that deeply about a teenagers decisions I would suggest you highly reassess your investment.
I like it when Iowa signs good players. I think we all do. However, when you are agonizing over a kid that is still a year away from signing that’s an issue.
I think you misinterpret the word "worry". Life is relative. I worry about this at about 1/1000th of a percent of the amount I worry about the grades of the students I teach. But I worry about it more than I worry about them signing some 4-star 2020 QB I've never heard of. Life is relative.
Don't be so pedantic. Reassess your investment in Iowa sports when you think someone saying they worry about something in sports is the same thing as them worrying about something in life. You need some perspective.
I'm not invested in teenagers decisions, I'm invested in the football program. I spend a decent amount of time and money traveling during the fall just to watch Hawkeye football games. When you include the cost of season tickets and other miscellaneous expenses, it adds up to a small fortune. The point I am trying to make is not everyone puts the same amount of effort. It doesn't seem fair to criticize someone when you really have no clue how invested a person is.
eh? re-read. I'm fine wiht the kid choosing whatever he wants. Doesn't mean I'll be worried about the Iowa Hawkeyes team. No one said anything about worrying about the kid's future.
My magic 8-ball could be wrong Ty, but I think D-S was addressing VG, not you.
You're magic 8-ball is correct. I was attempting to address the caring is creepy isssue as a whole rather than any individual comment.
