WHO WILL BE COLLEGE GAMEDAY'S GUEST PICKER - PART TWO

I just had a weird moment when I realized that I went to college with Todd Stevens, the hooray for Ames drummer...still voted for the Chizik coin.

This should be an absolute cake walk for Ames Drummer Guy.

I disagree...  there's something incredibly satisfying about the thought of Kirk Herbstreit picking games by flipping a Chizik nickel.  And McDonald's Tweet is a dark horse, too.

In the grand scheme of things, any of these choices would result in us all winning.

I AGREE.

I never wanted to Fire Ferentz. Good bye and good luck, Gary.

Man that roar from the crowd when ISU's great season went down the shitter to a 15 seed whoa. I know it's way early but damnit I can't wait for March Madness. I say we get Eustachy and ICP together and have a spiked Faygo chugging contest live on air at the Ames water plant.

I have watched the Hooray for Ames video no less than a dozen times this week. Just giggling like an idiot every damn time.

You don't have to go to college. This isn't Russia. Is this Russia? This isn't Russia.

What no mention of Iowa state alumnus, Carrie Champman Catt who was an American women's suffrage leader from early 20th century.  At least ESPN gameday plans on showing a feature on her influence.  Here is a preview:

I had to go with Eustachy and the McDonald's tweet. Anytime somebody else mocks ISU for resembling an actual Clown is alright by me.

But what if you know a Stacy, and her Mom's a fucking troll?

Can I get a redo?  I voted before watching the Ames video.  As if the drumming wasn’t enough, they give you a facemelter guitar solo as well.  Ames has everything!

I also forced myself to view this cinematic/musical farce. Besides the woman who recklessly abandons the steering wheel to take her coat off, my interest was peaked when I viewed a man in snow skis..."there is snow skiing in Ames??" I shouted out loud

After an exhausting internet search the best I could find was the Seven Oaks Ski resort in Boone (not Ames) Iowa. According to their website they have 13 runs ranging from 700 to 800 feet elevation.

My driveway has more slope than that. (:

Fuck Ames and all, but, those are XC skis. Regardless, XC skiing is iffy at best in Iowa, due to lack of snow. There’s a XC ski trail there, but it’s hardly worth advertising.

Gotcha... thanks for the clarification.

While the MickeyD's tweet is easily the funniest thing on the list, my vote is for Todd Stevens. That video NEEDS more national exposure.  Also, a guest picker who's capable of passing for Ice Cube would be fantastic.

In my head:
Rece:  And today's guest picker is...
Corso:  Holy cow!  It's Ice Cube!  Man, I really love your work.  My favorite is "Are We Here Yet?"
Herbstreit:  Actually, it's "Are We There Yet?"
Corso:  Are we where?  This is Iowa City, right?
Desmond:  No, this is Ames.
Corso:  Who is Ames?
Rece:  (attempting to regain control) Lee, our guest picker today is not Ice Cube, it's actually Todd Stevens, the man responsible for the award-winning - and viral - Ames promotional video "Hooray for Ames".  The video has garnered almost 5 thousand views since it was debuted in 2014.  My apologies to anyone who expected to see a recognizable person as guest picker today.

Awww.  Now I want ISP to win, just to see them next to Lee Corso.

I don't even know if that's in the top 5 reasons to have ISP on game day. How about when ISP starts unleashing Faygo on the Gameday crowd.

Okay so Region 4 was by far the toughest vote yet. So many great options!

definitely the Hooray for Ames drummer, because then they'd have to show the video so people would understand who he was :)

In all four of my votes, I considered which would be the most embarrassing choice for Iowa State?

  1. Steve King is the Congressional representative for Ames. 'Nuff said.
  2. Middle-aged ISU fan wants to fight the Kansas coach after a game? [chef's kiss]
  3. Cael Sanderson reminding ISU their two best wrestlers ever went elsewhere to become great coaches.
  4. I WANT TO SEE LEE CORSO FLIPPING A CHIZIK NICKEL SO BAD IT HURTS!

CAUTION: May go on prolonged rants about Gary Barta and Bruce Harreld without warning.

Best thing I've read all day! I feel fortunate to have never even driven through Lames. I feel like if I did I'd get a filth on me that steel wool couldn't scrub off.

This was a tough one but I had to go with Larry Legend and the Hooray drummer.  It's really striking to see all of these things/people all together in one place.

Neil Peart stands alone

Here, have some of these smelling salts.

I did the exact same.

While photoshopping a black guy for Iowa State was fake do you realize Wisconsin did this for real?

ISU is such a joke they killed ESPN for millions of people. Oh well at least those people are now spared the feeling of being embarrassed for an entire town.

I always heard the rumor that Troy Davis scored even worse than his brother's 4 on the Wonderlic. The rumor was a score of 2, as I recall it. Related: has anybody ever taken the Wonderlic? It's really, really, really difficult to score that low.

I spent half my life's earnings on wine, women, and song. The other half I wasted.

I got a 26, because I was able to lick all 26 slices of bread in a loaf of Wonder bread.

Somehow, I am still waiting for a call on Draft Day.
