So at the start of the American football season, there was a post on this site dedicated to English football team Norwich City having painted their visitor's locker room wall pink. https://www.goiowaawesome.com/iowa-hawkeyes-football/2018/08/2998/norwic...
Today, Norwich City won the English Championship League title, blowing past all preseason odds that had them pegged as a middle of the road team. With this title also comes automatic promotion to the English Premier Leage, the highest tier in England. Obviously and without any shred of doubt this can be attributed to painting the locker rooms pink.
But seriously, look forward to watching this team in the EPL next year. I made it a point to start following Norwich City closely after hearing the news of pink locker rooms and yellow bird mascot, and it's been super exciting. Norwich scored the most goals in the league this year and had a knack for late game heroics. The head coach, Daniel Farke, has an air of Ferentz to him as well. He has a calm demeanor and is fairly rigid in the way he selects his starting team every week. The leading goal scored and player of the year for the team was Teemu Pukki, a Swedish forward who was a free transfer, meaning they didn't have to buy him from another team which seems to be a rare thing in high tier soccer. Think of him as a two star recruit.
It's been fun. More people should pay attention to it.
