The good news: Iowa opens its Big Ten Tournament against Illinois, one of the four teams it defeated in Big Ten play this season (and the only one it beat on the road). Illinois is right about where we left them in January, though the Illini do come into Wednesday off a win over Rutgers. They are an atrocious three-point shooting team, they get one out of every eight shots blocked, and they are almost as bad as Iowa on defense.
The bad news: Even after the season-ending win over Northwestern, this is an historically bad Iowa basketball team that needed the Northwestern win to avoid posting the program's worst Big Ten record since 1930-31 and its first seven-game losing streak since 1984. And even if it wasn't all of those things, it would still be Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament, where it has not won a game since 2013.
So hey, let's win five in five days!
The usual rules apply.
