Hey, hoops news! Although not really the best hoops news: Luka Garza, Iowa's sophomore center, had surgery and is "out indefinitely."

Per Iowa, Garza had surgery to remove a benign cyst on his abdomen and the procedure went fine. The "out indefinitely" part obviously doesn't sound good, but it may just mean they don't have a firm timetable and, also, they don't really need to have a firm timetable at the moment, since Iowa doesn't have a game to play for another two months. That's a fair amount of time for Garza to get back up to speed, especially since it doesn't sound like a particularly invasive or troublesome procedure. But we'll have to wait and see on how long he'll be out; we'll update if additional information is released.
Anyway, best of luck to Garza on a full and speedy recovery -- we're looking forward to seeing him level up in his sophomore season and wreck fools this year.
