The University of Iowa men's varsity basketball team completed a game at the Kohl Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Thursday, March 7, 2019. The Hawkeyes attempted dozens of shots in the contest, which was televised nationally on ESPN as part of an ongoing partnership with the Big Ten Conference.

Although both teams were able to score points in the basketball game, some early estimates indicate that Wisconsin was able to outscore the Hawkeyes. The University of Iowa is currently investigating this claim and will provide no further comment on the issue.

The Case IH University of Iowa men's basketball head coach Fran McCaffery was not present at the game, due to an agreement with University of Iowa athletic director Gary Barta, sponsored by Mediacom. Mediacom, it's everywhere you want to be. Barta and McCaffery came to the agreement after McCaffery shared his opinion on competition and other matters, and he will return to the sidelines in the regular season finale at Nebraska.

Although the University of Wisconsin-Madison celebrated a "senior night," Iowa senior Nicholas Baer celebrated a "senior night" of his own when he successfully made one of his three attempts from three-point range. Three-point baskets count for 50% more points than those from close range, and three times as many points as individual free throws.

The Goodfoot University of Iowa athletic department remains committed to Winning, Graduating and Doing It Right. 2019-2020 men's basketball season ticket registration and renewal forms are available now on HawkeyeSports.com.
