For the first time in three years we can watch the NCAA Tournament Selection Show with genuine excitement to see Iowa's name get called as part of the field of
64 68. The end of the season didn't go the way anyone would have liked to see, but fortunately Iowa did enough in the weeks (and months) before that to almost certainly secure a bid. We won't know for sure until their name appears in a bracket tonight, but basically the entire bracket-projecting community has them in the NCAA Tournament. That seems like a good sign.
According to the Bracket Project's Bracket Matrix, most bracket projectors have Iowa has an 8- or 9-seed, though a few have Iowa as a 10-seed. The other teams in that 8-9-10 range: Central Florida, Washington, Seton Hall, VCU, Mississippi, Minnesota, Syracuse, Baylor, Utah State, Oklahoma, and Florida.
So what seed will Iowa get? Who will they face in their first NCAA Tournament game since 2016? Where will they be headed? We'll find out soon.
The NCAA Tournament Selection Show airs from 5-6 PM CT on CBS. Let's chat about it all in the comments below.
