The first half of the video features several players talking about what the tigerhawk symbolizes, interspersed with some snazzy aerial shots of the Iowa campus. That's nice, but the second half of the video brings the goods, with several highlights from last year (including King's pick-six versus Maryland, Daniels juking a Minnesota defender into the Iowa River, Beathard's crazy diving touchdown versus Indiana, as well as one of my personal favorites in Jewell smashing Northwestern QB Clayton Thorson with a picture-perfect sack) cut with clips of Iowa's offseason workouts. Most of that stuff was pretty standard: lifting weights, doing pull ups, and so on. But there was also this awesome-looking tug o' war drill:
YES. GIVE US MORE OF THIS. SO MUCH MORE.
If you, like us, are fascinated by this drill, go read this from The Gazette's Marc Morehouse, who did some digging on the hows and whys of the tug o' war drill.
And then go watch the video again. Because we're still almost three (long) weeks from football beginning again and it's not like you have anything better to do, right?
