Welcome to Over/Under, the weekly look at stats and odds and ends where you can place your fake bets without standing in line or someone standing in front of your TV. This week, we have to use 2015 stats to set some numbers. Let's get right to it.

Over/Under Total game points: 52

Vegas sets the total game points at 51-52 points. The 2015 Hawkeyes averaged 30.9 points a game in 2015 and 37.75 in the 2015 non-conference* schedule. Miami (Oh) averaged 17.9 points on offense and surrendered an average 32 ppg on defense. Iowa and Miami had one common opponent in 2015, Wisconsin. The Badgers beat the RedHawks 58-0.

Total number of rushing yards, Iowa: 250

The Hawkeyes had a top five rushing team under Kirk Ferentz in 2015 and return all but one of the four horsemen from the backfield a year ago. Iowa averaged 181 yards per game on the ground while Miami surrendered 168. Miami also gave up a whopping 27 rushing TDs in '15.

Total passing yards, C.J. Beathard, Iowa: 250

Beathard surpassed 250 yards passing only twice in 2015 and both times in the non-conference (vs. Pitt, North Texas). Miami allowed an average of 235 passing yards per game in '15 and an opponent QB rating of 137.21.

Total receptions, Jay Scheel, Iowa: 4

Both Jay Scheel and Jermanic Smith share the top line at wide receiver and both should play. Scheel, the sophomore, is still a mystery to Iowa fans as he has zero career receptions. Scheel was credited with one catch for seven yards in Iowa's spring game.

Game Attendance: 69,000

A year ago, Iowa was expecting the smallest attendance number for an opener since Buffalo in 2003. After a 12-2 season ticket sales are up -- way up -- but the home slate is not completely sold out. The weather looks perfect and Iowa will push single seats for sale.

Interceptions, Desmond King, Iowa: 1

King is the first Thorpe Award winner to return to college. In 2015, he intercepted eight passes to finish as one of the top in the nation. Five of those INTs came in Iowa's first five games and three in the non-con schedule. Billy Bahl, Miami returning QB, had 8 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 11 games last year.

Number of "Put in Stanley" comments in the GIA game thread: 3

Kirk Ferentz and Greg Davis told the media this week that the #2 QB position is still up for grabs between junior Tyler Weigers and true frosh Nathan Stanley. This may be a game a backup gets some snaps in mop-up time. Who will it be?

Finally, number of arrests on the Iowa Department of Safety blog: 17

What a difference a year makes. One year ago Iowa fans were nervous about an upcoming game with nine point underdog Illinois State. After an amazing 12-0 run to the Big Ten Championship game, expectations have swung considerably. The game is close to a sellout and a 2:30 kick too. It'll be hot but not sweltering. Eighty-two degrees is perfect beer drinking weather.
