A big lead in the fourth quarter meant there was time for the second-team offense to get some action, which meant Wiegers Time! We haven't seen much of Tyler Wiegers since he lost the offseason quarterback derby to Nate Stanley, but he got into the game today and he got to show off his skills a little bit, too. He also managed to record the first touchdown pass of his Iowa career, which was good to see. Wiegers has been a very patient back-up to C.J. Beathard and now Nate Stanley, so it's nice to see him get a moment to shine.
It was also good to see a return appearance from Ivory Kelly-Martin (the recipient of the touchdown pass) after his fumble earlier in the game. The touchdown put Iowa up 45-16, which was also the final score of the game.
