C.J. Beathard had the best game of his young NFL career by far on Sunday, throwing for 288 yards and two touchdowns and running for another touchdown in San Francisco's first win of the year, 31-21 over the New York Giants. His first touchdown pass of the game was a gorgeous 83-yard rainbow to Marquise Goodwin, and it probably looked more than a little bit familiar to Iowa fans:

Did that touchdown bomb look familiar? It should, as it was eerily reminiscent of Beathard's famous deep touchdown pass to Tevaun Smith in the Big Ten Championship Game two years ago.

Still got it, CJ. (And watching that Beathard-to-Smith touchdown never gets old.)

Meanwhile, if you noticed Goodwin's hugely emotional reaction after scoring his touchdown, there was an understandable (if very sad) reason for that: his infant son died as a result of complications during pregnancy just hours before the game. Our thoughts go out to Goodwin and his family during this painful time.
