The Go Iowa Awesome greatly enjoys The New Day, the three-man trio who have been tearing things up on WWE programming for a few years now. We like their entertaining skills on the mic, their quality matches, their ability to blend nerd culture with pro wrestling, and their enjoyable overall antics. And we'd say all that even if they didn't have a huge Iowa sports connection, but of course they do in the form of Big E, former Iowa football player Ettore Ewen. Though Big E's playing days are long gone, he's still a noted Hawkeye Sports Enthusiast and frequently references Iowa on his Twitter feed and attends games when possible (he was at the Outback Bowl last year, which, welp).
So his rooting interest in this year's Pinstripe Bowl is clear. What we didn't know is that one of his teammates in The New Day is an alum of Iowa's newest sworn enemy: Boston College. Kofi Kingston, the most high-flying member of The New Day is indeed an alumnus of BC (he was also a high school wrestler, which I did not know). So how is The New Day handling this intra-squad conflict?
@WWEBigE Do you and Kofi have any rooting interests in the Pinstripe Bowl?

When Iowa throttles BC, Kofi will wrestle in black and gold overalls. https://t.co/ci2Duuzg47

Oh, it's ON.
Kofi will look very good in black and gold -- it certainly wouldn't be the first time he's rocked that look. Go beat the Eagles, Hawkeyes -- Big E is counting on you.
