The Prologue is Go Iowa Awesome’s annual Iowa Hawkeye football preview. It dates back as far as the Black Heart Gold Pants days and if anyone tries to steal it from us we will sue you into oblivion because we’re all lawyers here.
The Prologue will be here in seven days and so we’ll start with the only seven that matters: 7 got 6. 2009 was a year that we’ll continue to talk about until…(checks calendar)…well we’re talking about it 10 years later. The Michigan State game was memorable for a lot of reasons. First, it was probably the most physical game Iowa played in all year. Second, it was probably the dirtiest game Iowa played in all year (remember this?). Third, Iowa’s defense arguably collapsed when the team needed them most and gave up a huge touchdown to Kirk Cousins and Blair White with only 2:50 left in the game. Fourth…well, on 4th down with only two seconds left on the clock and the game on the line, Iowa needed a touchdown to beat the Michigan State Spartans and remain undefeated. So:
And so, for one more week, the dream remained alive. I was at Court Avenue Brewing Company in Des Moines when this happened. I jumped in the air and broke and accidently hit my table, breaking a number of glasses. Where were you?
