After Saturday's loss to Michigan, Iowa dropped a few spots in the Week 7 polls -- bt not too far.

THE WEEK 7 AP POLL

RANK TEAM RECORD PTS
1 Alabama (32) 5-0 1503
2 Clemson (15) 5-0 1433
3 Ohio State (10) 6-0 1393
3 Georgia (3) 5-0 1393
5 LSU (2) 4-0 1352
6 Oklahoma 5-0 1268
7 Florida 6-0 1163
8 Wisconsin 5-0 1105
9 Notre Dame 4-1 1046
10 Penn State 5-0 958
11 Texas 4-1 947
12 Auburn 5-1 920
13 Oregon 4-1 828
14 Boise State 5-0 654
15 Utah 4-1 624
16 Michigan 4-1 618
17 Iowa 4-1 454
18 Arizona State 4-1 388
19 Wake Forest 5-0 380
20 Virginia 4-1 353
21 SMU 6-0 285
22 Baylor 5-0 260
23 Memphis 5-0 189
24 Texas A&M 3-2 165
25 Cincinnati 4-1 118

At the top of the poll, Ohio State continued their steady climb up the rankings after dispatching Michigan State and Florida made a notable jump to #7 after knocking off Auburn in one of the weekend's biggest games. Penn State was also able to take advantage of Auburn's defeat to hope into the Top 10 at #10, meaning that Iowa's primetime showdown with them this weekend will feature a Top 10 opponent; let's hope for plenty of Kinnick Magic in that game.

Outside of Auburn, Iowa was the biggest dropper of the week (at least among teams who remained ranked -- Kansas State fell from #21 to unranked and Washington fell from #15 to out of the polls entirely after losing to a 2-3 Stanford team), falling three spots from #14 to #17. Several teams in the teens or early 20s of last week's rankings made slight jumps, thanks to losses by Washington, UCF, Oklahoma State, and Michigan State. Baylor, Memphis, and Cincinnati are this week's poll newbies.

THE WEEK 7 COACHES POLL

RANK TEAM RECORD PTS
1 Alabama (42) 5-0 1602
2 Clemson (20) 5-0 1531
3 Georgia 5-0 1459
4 Ohio State (3) 6-0 1422
5 Oklahoma 5-0 1378
6 LSU 5-0 1364
7 Florida 6-0 1218
8 Wisconsin 5-0 1164
9 Penn State 5-0 1051
10 Notre Dame 4-1 1033
11 Texas 4-1 971
12 Auburn 5-1 929
13 Oregon 4-1 866
14 Boise State 5-0 732
15 Utah 4-1 655
16 Michigan 4-1 648
17 Wake Forest 5-0 498
18 Iowa 4-1 441
19 Virginia 4-1 345
20 Memphis 5-0 318
21 Texas A&M 3-2 306
22 SMU 6-0 246
23 Baylor 5-0 234
24 Arizona State 4-1 228
25 Minnesota 5-0 131

It's much the same at the top of the Coaches Poll, except with Ohio State still behind Georgia and LSU still behind Oklahoma, unlike their AP brethren. Penn State also hopped into the Top 10 in these rankings, and is even slotted one spot higher (#9) than the AP rankings.

Iowa fell four spots in the Coaches Poll rankings, from #14 to #18. SMU, Baylor, Arizona State, and 5-0 Minnesota are the newcomers to the Coaches Poll this week. A 5-0 Minnesota team is a truly baffling concept that this season is forcing us to consider.

Iowa is #15 in the Massey composite, #17 in the Sagarin ratings, #18 in the FPI rankings, and #21 in the SP+ rankings
