This was making the rounds on social media yesterday, but I know not everyone is active on the ol' Tweetbook or the Facegram. Dace Richardson, a cherished member of Iowa's late '00s teams and a key fixture on the offensive line during Iowa's remarkable 2009 season, got some terrible news recently: he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and has had multiple surgeries in December to remove (and repair) part of his colon. He's expected to make a full recovery, but more surgeries are anticipated as well and medical care in this country is very very very expensive. This is where we come in.
Hawkeye fans, please consider helping one of our Hawkeye teammates. https://t.co/F3DQ0OACxn— Iowa Football Club (@IAFootballClub) January 22, 2021
Pat Angerer, another member of those great late '00s Iowa teams and a teammate and friend of Dace, has set up a GoFundMe to support Dace and his family during this ordeal. The initial goal was $30,000 and they've already blown past that goal (over $72,000 as of this writing), because the Iowa community is truly awesome. But again: medical care in this country is very very very expensive and Dace isn't going to be able to work for a while, so more help will be welcome. You can donate here if you like, in whatever amount you're able to give.
