We’ll have plenty of time to lament about the disaster that was the Big Ten Championship game. For now, let’s remember that there is one more game on the schedule and a chance to end the season with a W. The good news is that Iowa will be enjoying some sunny weather this New Year’s Day, as they’ll be taking on the Kentucky Wildcats in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl. From Brett McMurphy:

Orlando on New Year’s Day at Camping World Stadium against an SEC opponent isn’t a bad consolation prize. The bad news for Iowa is that their opponent is coached by Mark Stoops, an Iowa alum that played for the Hawkeyes when Ferentz was Hayden Fry’s offensive line coach in the 1980’s. Stoops was a grad assistant for Fry from 1990-91 and was also on Mike Stoops’ staff at Arizona from 2004-2009. Rumor was that Ferentz really hated coaching against Bob in the Insight Bowl and I imagine he’ll feel the same coaching against the youngest Stoops brother.

The game will kickoff at 12:00 PM central time and broadcast on ABC. We’ll have plenty of coverage in the coming weeks. Go Hawks.
