Iowa's women's basketball team suffered the toughest loss of the postseason this year, getting thumped by overall #1 seed Baylor 85-53 in the swan song of Megan Gustafson, arguably the greatest basketball player to ever put on a Hawkeyes jersey.
As the Hawkeyes returned home, a small crowd gathered to greet the Elite Eight-worthy warriors at the Eastern Iowa Airport, and fortunately the Iowa City Press-Citizen sent photographer Joseph Cress to the action.
According to the photo captions, the corgi in question is named Lennon, a 3-year-old Welsh Pembroke who quite clearly loves Megan Gustafson. Lennon is owned by Erin Manfull, according to the Press-Citizen, and we would like to thank Ms. Manfull for bringing the most magical of all dog breeds to celebrate the most magical basketball season to grace one of the most magical seasons of Iowa basketball to ever grace Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Corgis are awesome.
