Merry Wrestlemas, friends! The best three days of the wrestling calendar are finally here, for the first time in two years. That's right: it's NCAA Tournament time. So how to watch this year's action? As has been the case for... well, as long as I can remember, ESPN is providing broadcast coverage of the event. And they're providing more than ever this year:
Or if you prefer this view:
One note: I think the Friday afternoon session on both graphics is mislabeled. I'm 99% sure the 2 PM CT/3 PM ET session is more quarterfinal matches (and/or more consolation bracket action); that would align with what the NCAA broadcast information page says. (Also, it just makes sense, given that you'll have twice as many matches in the quarterfinals as you will in the semifinals.)
The action during the day on Thursday (today) is on ESPNU. The second round action tonight will be on ESPN2. Tomorrow's day action is also on ESPNU, while the semifinals tomorrow night will be on ESPN2. On Saturday day (the 3rd/5th/7th place matches, plus a round of action prior to those bouts) will be on ESPN2 in the morning, while the championship finals will be on ESPN that night.
The TV broadcast will be showing multiple matches at once on Thursday and Friday, and likely jumping from match to match fairly often on Thursday. You can also watch every match in full online (ESPN3.com) or via the ESPN app. I'm pleasantly surprised that they didn't move the all-mat streams to ESPN+ this year. I'll try to update what mat Iowa guys are wrestling on in our live threads and/or our Discord server.
In terms of radio coverage, Steve Grace and Mark Ironside will be covering things on AM-800 KXIC, which you can stream at iHeart.com and on the iHeart Radio app.
Get it? Good. Let's settle in for some Mat Mayhem.
