Too bad for a kid that was living his life long dream of being a Hawkeye to get drug into the middle of this situation by no fault of his own.  To me his on field performance disproved the nepotism claims, he looked pretty solid for a young player.  Probably a good move for him regardless of his dad's outcome which looks pretty bleak.  I hope he can find a good home to complete his football career.  Best wishes Dillon.

Matt C says they "Suck in the pass rush", when your quarterback's scrambling velocity is measured in furlongs per fortnight I would still be concerned by their pass rush.

Three winnable games in a row and 3 epic fails in a row.  And the last with the house full of recruits.  The lack luster boring shit show should surely run any offensive skill player or any other player with winning as a priority to his next choice.  This was not a we own our home field show case........but as Ross points out when you bring recruits to Kinnick you only have a 2 in 3 chance of showing them a victory including the early season cream puffs.

You guys don't get it.  We need a bubble gum steward. Now that Brian is the O coordinator he won't have time to keep Kirk stocked in bubble gum and pickup the 50 or so discards during a game.

Ferentz, Davis and Parker all deserve credit for bringing this team back from the depths of football hell a week ago.  The recovery we witnessed Saturday night does not happen without some skilled leadership from the coaches at all levels.  Hopefully they realize Rugamba needs to stay in the line up and maybe they can make a similar find in the depth chart to play weakside linebacker.  As for receivers, maybe a casting call to the student body is in order.  With 30,000 students there has to be someone on an intermural flag football team or someone on the track team that has enough skill and speed to separate from a defensive back.  Best of luck on the balance of the season, right now I am feeling pretty pumped about the prospects of an 8-4 season and a reasonable bowl game.  And I am still glowing over sticking in Harbaugh's arrogant ass!  That's what I call a hog kill, huh!

"WHEN I'M WRONG I SAY I'M WRONG".  Just like in Dirty Dancing when Baby's Dr. dad wrongly thought Johnny had knocked up Penny, when I am wrong I say I am wrong.  I along with many of you thought there was no way Iowa could stay on the same field with Harbaugh's superior crew.  We were wrong and I am sorry for many of the horrible things I said about our hero Hawkeyes and the coaching staff.  We should have known better after seeing the impossible come true last Tuesday night that lightening could strike twice in one week.  This win in many ways feels better than going 12-0 last year.  And the added bonus is seeing Harbaugh gutted again at Kinnick.  My hat is off to Ferentz, Davis and Parker for the remarkable turn around from last week.  That doesn't happen without some skilled coaching at all levels.  Two more games to a respectable 8-4,  Go Hawks.  There, I feel better, confession is good for the sole...........

This was a unbelievable.  Hopefully they had a lot of recruits visiting tonight!  I think they might be inspired by what they witnessed.  Go Hawks, could salvage 8-4 and a reasonable bowl.   I can't believe I am saying this but my hat is off to GD and Phil Parker.  Wadley gets the game ball but a lot of players really stepped it up tonight.  Go Hawks, build on this and don't shit the bed during the next two weeks!

Great solution but keep in mind it is a 7:00 PM game. You may want to pickup an extra bottle of Jack so you don't run out before kick off.  Worst part of this impending ass kicking is you have to wait all day to take it.  Get some extra ice too.

Still enough time to call Henry Wilkler for one of those reverse mortgages.....put half on Michigan to cover the 21.5 points and the other half on the over.  Should be the lock of the year.

Comment 10 Nov 2016

Your comment reminds me of a statement pro golfer Sam Snead was reported to have said.  "If you aren't thinking of pussy 100% of the time you just aren't concentrating".  I guess this applies even after a 1 point win over Michigan to become the undisputed # 1 team in the country.

The 13 "Why not try it again"?  Great idea which means there is absolutely no chance of it happening.  Resorting to a new look or any type of deception would be an admission that our never changing game plan is a failure when everyone knows all we have to do is execute.  The only 13 you will see Saturday will be Michigan's score before the extra point after scoring their second touchdown.

Comment 09 Nov 2016

Hard to find any light this year.  When you are down by 3 touchdowns and can't move the ball on the ground yet keep trying to establish your telegraphed run game hope disappears.  I wouldn't even mind the losing that much if it appeared they were trying to win.  (Down by 8 and kick a field goal because we have to score twice).  I have watched ISU lose 3 games this year but in each game they were fighting like hell to try to win.  They try to use multiple sets and deception to overcome their inferior talent not a warn out were coming straight at you, try to stop us.  Ridiculous.

My suggestion to skip the bowl game to avoid a losing record was meant to be humorous.  I should have been focused on the serious point of how the extra practices for the B1G championship and Rose Bowl last year have positively impacted the 2016 performance.

Reading KFs absurd remarks from the Tuesday press conference I am convinced the only reason he continues to hold these events is to fuck with us.  The worse they play the more outrageous the smug statements.  I can't wait to read next weeks cocksure defense of definitely staying the course.

Comment 08 Nov 2016

Even if Iowa does beat Illinois and qualifies for a shit bowl in some cold shit city with a 6-6 record they should decline the invitation. One, nobody cares about those bowls and two if they play and lose which is highly probable they end up at 6-7 for a losing season.  The sooner we put this season to rest the better.

Man up Boys and Girls................... this line up signals a game plan called "The Same Old Shit".  Featuring no changes to the "Bend then Break Quickly" defense.  I am pleased to see that Bower is still in the line up as he truly puts the WEAK in weak side linebacker.  On offense count on more 1 yard off tackle to the short side, jet sweeps for minus 3 yards and 1 yard outs on 3rd and 2.  This is classic KF and GD "we are coming straight at ya" Iowa by God football.  Fuck deception, we are playing KF Iowa football.  With Harbaugh bucking for a #1 rating count on them hanging the biggest number possible. (See how many spots Penn St. moved up after the thrashing of Iowa). The only knee taking you will see are those praying for the carnage to end.  Should be great time.

My minimum for attending the game in your place is the ticket, a parking pass, $250 cash and another $50 for concessions.  This offer is good until midnight tonight unless I come to my senses sooner and withdraw.

Hopefully Desmond had a deal with KF if he came back this year KF would make up the financial loss for bypassing what may well have been a 1st draft pick and hefty signing bonus.  I'm sure his stock has dropped significantly and the pro scouts were really impressed with his coverage on the 1st Penn St. TD.  Just like in poker, take down the pot when you can.........

Comment 07 Nov 2016

Yes, I understand they don't measure Bower's foot speed in seconds per forty yards but by furlongs per fortnight.
