The Hyball is a weekly Iowa men's basketball column

There is no column intro.

Read that from earlier this week. I am continuously reliving the in-person experience of Iowa's Big Ten regular season title -- and basically nothing else -- until the conference tournaments start.

Proceed.

The Hyball

"Doesn’t everything seem to point back to the fact that we were only supposed to live until we’re 30?"

Last Week

2/25 - No. 25 Iowa 88, Nebraska 78: Did you know Tony Perkins (20) was the leading scorer in this one? Shot 80%; he's the man.

2/28 - No. 24 Iowa 82, Northwestern 61: 1) My absolute favorite tweet from this game

2) I will miss and want this forever the second he leaves. One dribble!

3) Limitless range appears to be infecting everyone on campus:

This Week

3/3 - Iowa (24) at Michigan: Am I bold enough to predict an Iowa upset so everyone gets the hell off my back? You know it!

3/6 - Iowa (24) at Illinois (20): Was gonna 'meh' this game -- but it's a pretty solid season finale. Good mo' going into the BTT, or a fuggetaboutit with a quick ass turnaround.

Caitlin Corner

Really powerful:

Incredible to see what she's inspiring these kids to do.

(This will be the first and only time in human history Austin Ash is compared to Ja Morant.)

for real though holy shit

Brad Davison Is Definitively A Senior.

Obligatory Michigan Section

I use this opportunity not to troll but to genuinely compliment Izzo's hair. It seemed fuller and darker than usual:

OK, now we troll:

He really might be that dude.

They tend to, yeah. And though Michigan is definitively not great -- let alone ranked -- they sure felt like that for the Sparty game.

Also god damn, Phil Martelli is so likable. Credited every player and coach (but himself) following the MSU beatdown. Can't find his Big Ten interview, but you can get a taste from the presser:

In no phony way, I just think that Howard Eisley called a flawless offensive game. And, again, the calls were his. The only call that I did was the one that I completely screwed up at the end of the half. I will not sleep real long tonight thinking I forgot to tell Eli you do not take that shot. The only possible thing that could happen was for the half to end. Don’t shoot the ball until the half ends, and I didn’t tell him that. And it almost cost us with a momentum basket at the half.

Saddi Washington’s scout, flawless, and Howard Eisley’s offensive game calling was — if there was a quarterback rating and the highest rating ever was Brady — I’m supposed to say that, right? Because at Michigan, he probably has the highest rating. But Howard Eisley — he pitched a perfect game. He pitched a perfect game.

The Mini-Hybrid

Just... such loser dork asses.
