We are back and everything is falling apart. Iowa? Disaster. Our picks last week? Not good. The B1G games this weekend? Miserable. This article? To be determined.

Things were so bad in Hawkeye-land last weekend that I left my house at half to go tailgate at a HUSKER football game. DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO ME, KIRK?

ANYWAY, our record hot streak came to an end thanks to some very poor bets on the TOP 25 GAMES OF THE WEEK OF THE CENTURY. It was ugly, BUT, on the bright side, UNDERS week led to our first winning week betting point totals of the entire season. THAT is something we can all celebrate. Also, we have now won 69 college football bets this year. Nice. Alright, the computers loved the favorites this week, so if there are a bunch of upsets it is their fault, not mine.

BIG TEN GAMES OF THE WEEK

#22 Iowa -11.5 @ Northwestern (6:00 PM CST, BTN)

Oh, hey, what an exciting matchup for a night game! The most impressive part about the last two weeks for Iowa is that they have somehow managed to stay ranked despite having the worst offense in the history of offenses. My question is this: How does one expect Iowa to cover an 11.5 point spread when they cannot even score 12 points? Sure, jNW got blown out by Nebraska and Minnesota, but come on. What has Iowa done the last two weeks to make you think they can do anything on offense? I hope I am wrong, but I refuse to believe in them until I see something…ANYTHING... on the offensive side of the ball.

Also, I would like IT to be known that the oddsmakers in Vegas are COWARDS. This game is the perfect spot to put the total at 29.5 points and they didn’t do it. These two teams have combined to score 35 points over the last two weeks. That is SIXTEEN QUARTERS of football and only 35 points. In the last four meetings between these two offensive juggernauts, they have combined to score less than 30 points in THREE OF THE FOUR GAMES. Grow up, Vegas.

This is going to be so disgusting, and not in an erotic, nine-overtime disgusting kind of way. Make sure you have your drinks ready for Saturday night, folks, it is going to be… something. As you can probably tell, I like Northwestern and the under here, so I am going to split my brain in half. Iowa covers but the game goes UNDER.

Twisty

PICK: Iowa -11.5, UNDER 40.5

#5 Ohio State -14.5 @ Nebraska (11:00 AM CST, FOX)

The Scott Frost train has officially fallen off the tracks, slid down a steep embankment into a lake, set the lake on fire, sunk to the bottom of said lake, rolled over, and found another, deeper part of the lake to fall further into. It is bad, so bad that their stadium was probably only 25% full in the 4th quarter as they were attempting an onside kick to get the ball back and possibly take the lead against Purdue.

The one chance Frost still has at MAYBE saving his job? A match-up against Ohio State! When Nebraska joined the Big Ten people thought this could be a great rivalry, instead, Ohio State has gotten more competitive games from Rutgers. In their last two trips to Lincoln, the Buckeyes have outscored the Huskers 73-0 in the first half. Game scores include 52-17, 48-7, 56-14, 62-3, and, well, you get the point. Nebraska’s weird streak of losing games by one score ends this week, no matter how CLOSE Scott Frost thinks they are.

PICK: OSU -7.5 1st Half, OSU -14.5 Game

Illinois +14.5 @ #20 Minnesota (11:00 AM CST, ESPN2)

Illinois is so bad that I literally forgot to make a pick for their game last week. Some may call that a writer error, others would call it a very smart business decision. Out of sight, out of mind. I have no idea how they beat Penn State, but they quickly reminded everyone that they are still not very good by losing to Rutgers.

Minnesota continues to roll, crushing Northwestern last week 41-14. Hey, wait a minute…If Minnesota AND Nebraska can do this to Northwestern, why can’t Iowahahahah, lord help us.

I don't like this pick, but we can't take EVERY favorite in the conference this week, so Illinois it is.

PICK: Illinois +14.5

Penn State -10 @ Maryland (2:30 PM CST, FS1)

I do not know what happened to Penn State against Illinois but they were back to looking like a decent team last week. Yes, they still lost, but they scored 24 points in only four quarters. Against Illinois, it took them four quarters and nine overtimes to get to 18 points. This is a big step in the right direction.

Maryland finally got back into the win column after losing three in a row following a 4-0 start to the season. They now start a pretty brutal stretch – vs Penn State, at #3 Michigan State, and vs #7 Michigan. Ouch, sorry, Terps.

PICK: Penn State -10, UNDER 55.5

#21 Wisconsin -13.5 @ Rutgers (2:30 PM CST, BTN)

Wisconsin is going to win the West again, aren’t they? Boo.

Inevitable

PICK: Wisconsin -13.5

#3 Michigan State -3 @ Purdue (2:30 PM CST, ABC)

A lot of people are expecting an upset here. Michigan State is coming off of a HUGE win over Michigan in which they really should have lost but HEY, NO JUDGEMENT HERE. I WOULD TAKE ANY TYPE OF WIN RIGHT NOW.

Purdue had a bye week, err, uhh, a game against Nebraska. They looked fine. I don’t see an upset here, sorry, world. Purdue pulled their “upset” of the year already against Iowa, and I am sure MSU will at least make an effort to cover David Bell. That should be enough to win this and cover.

PICK: MSU -3

Indiana +20.5 @ #7 Michigan (6:30 PM CST, FOX)

Indiana is BACK (in our good graces) after covering last week. Great job, Hoosiers! Can they do it again against a Michigan team coming off of a tough loss to their little brother? PROBABLY NOT!

Speaking of Michigan, they definitely should have won last week, right? That was an epic collapse. But, like I always say, if should haves and could haves were nickels I wouldn’t have to sell my old clothes to pay for my bets. That’s how the old saying goes, right…right? GUYS?????

inspirational quotation

PICK: Michigan -20.5

TOP 25 GAMES OF THE WEEK OF THE CENTURY

#9 Wake Forest +2.5 vs North Carolina – Wake Forest +2.5

Last week #12 Kentucky had a similar line against Mississippi State. It felt weird and wrong. I took Kentucky. Kentucky lost. Vegas got me, but it will not happen again! Actually….I am taking Wake because money isn’t real, it is just a social construct created to keep us all down, man.

Missouri +38.5 @ #1 Georgia – Georgia -38.5

Mizzou is 0-8 (!!!) ATS this year. At least they are good at being bad. I am cheering for them to go the entire year without covering, you should be too.

Texas +6.5 @ Iowa State – Iowa State -6.5

Texas had a very normal week…NOTHING TO SEE HERE FOLKS, THINGS ARE FINE.

#13 Auburn +4 @ #14 Texas A&M – Auburn +4

Some rude and nasty people are saying that Spread Awareness has not correctly picked an SEC game not involving Alabama or Georgia all year. Those people are dumb, stupid, and also probably correct.

DEGENERATE GAME OF THE WEEK

UTSA -11 VS UTEP – UTSA -11

MEEP MEEP! UTSA has become the official sponsor of the Degenerate Game of the Week, and we wouldn't want it any other way. The Meepers got no respect from the college football playoff committee, they will be out for blood this week. They also just signed their coach to a 10-year extension despite every Texas Tech media member saying he was going to leave and go there. Great decision, San Antonio is 1,000,000,000,000x better than Lubbock.

That's it for Week 10. Enjoy your last Saturday of full sun before the time police steal all the daylight from us!

2021 RECORD
